Airport Access Control is a good example of an Ultra-Scan security application. Taking advantage of its unique ultrasonic fingerprint reader, its highly accurate and versatile AFIS image processing and matching and its unique IV&V performance measurement and analysis resources, Ultra-Scan has provided superior access control capability for airport security at several major US airports. In two airports, for more than two years, Ultra-Scan achieved:
- Enrollment and full service for 100% of eligible users.
- No exception handling ever required.
- Essentially no maintenance or service required after the initial training and evaluation period.
- False Acceptance (unauthorized entry) zero.
- False Rejection (incorrect rejection of authorized user) less than 1% caused almost entirely by user finger presentation and corrected on second attempt.
Ability to measure and analyze performance has permitted effective corrective action on any issues and resulted in optimum performance. A more recent deployment of our airport security application has added additional capabilities that include wireless, remote, outdoor, unattended vehicle entry/exit control.
Ultra-Scan also has an installed base of TouchLink EMPI system users.
One such user is the Catholic Health System (CHS) of Western New York. CHS is deploying the TouchLink product, linking electronic medical record (EMR) databases from two different EMR systems and four hospitals to provide consolidated patient identification at selected patient registration points.
With over 22,000 patients enrolled and daily registration of over 50 patients at four biometric patient registration locations (including a remote diagnostic laboratory facility), the hospital system is identifying over 75 patients per day, streamlining the registration workflow process and providing an additional level of patient safety. |
